Howdy, this is our story. We are the Rountrees and we live to travel. We love to visit the European countries especially Italy. Our home bases are in Maine and Kentucky. We always manage to find fun in anything we do. We have three grown children and two grandbabies named Liam and Elijah. Three cats: Spaz (the big boy), Callie (the Queen) and Bebe (the Duchess). We found each other in a round about way….long story. But we are happy where ever life leads us.
Travel is our passion….follow us on our journey’s!

Hello Ramblers–
We are Mainers (Bangor), and had a wonderful trip to Italy last June–fell in love with the country and hope to go back. Where in Maine are you located? This year, I think we’ll be heading to France, though Euro exchange rate is pretty bad. I discovered the Slow Travel Website and message board last year, and it has made a huge difference in our travel planning. I’ll look for your postings.
Dear Deb and Don,
I will be making my first trip to Florence, Italy next Thursday. My daughter is taking me for my birthday. Any suggestions for good restaurants, bakeries and other interesting things to see and do while in Florence? We will also be spending two days in Rome.
Thank you!
Judy
It was wonderful to meet the two of you in person! Hope you had a safe trip home and we are looking forward to the next visit!

Hope we can meet up next time you’re in Italy!
Hi, I wasn’t being rude about not responding to your message on ST but I’m not a premium member. Hope I find you here.
I love your website. You will have to teach me how to do this. I am hungry reading all about your food travels in Italy. I love Italian food! Thank you so much for the recipe for my favorite pizza also, Marguerita Pizza. I wish Dave and I could go with you to Italy some day. Have a wonderful time in July.
My goodness, are all those countries visiting your website or is it you visiting all those countries? Because I used to travel and I miss it! I’m waiting for my baby to grow up so we’ll be travelling together!
P.S. I like your website and all those food pictures make me hungry! Ha ha!
